This interior/exterior project was inspired by Matisse’s vibrant colors, patterns, collage techniques, and his paintings of open windows. Students created colorful cut paper interiors featuring a window to the outside to showcase their view of the world, either real or imagined. Through this project, they learned about "drawing with scissors," and using pattern and warm and cool colors in their artwork. Most importantly, they created a work of art showing a unique and personal point of view.
